Collaborator

An Overheated Chamber Piece That Would Make A Great Two Man Play
First off, let me say that I think that David Morse is one of the most underrated actors working. Since winning me over with his stint on "St. Elsewhere," I've seen him develop into a reliable character actor that only rarely gets the recognition he deserves. Likewise, I'm a big fan of Martin Donovan. The king of understated deadpan, Donovan is always fascinating to watch! "Collaborator" is Donovan's debut as a feature film writer/director and it has some of the same offbeat humor that you might expect from its steely eyed star. Donovan has structured this work as an intimate chamber piece, very theatrical in nature. There isn't a lot of unnecessary frills in the staging or filming of "Collaborator," Donovan seems far more concerned with his words. And that's as it should be. Although there are peripheral characters and subplots, the heart of the movie unfolds like a tense two man show. Donovan goes toe to toe with Morse and that's where all the tension and drama develops,...

"COMPELLING, DRAMATIC, FUNNY!"
This film catches your attention immediately with an interesting story of two men who go back in time as neighbors, live complete opposite lives, and decide to reunite after several years apart. When they meet once again, Gus who is now an ex-con and holds Robert hostage at gunpoint and so the Drama begins. The story is engaging, Acting Performance Superb with an insightful story of conflict. There are serious moments and Funny moments. I would watch again. Highly Recommended!

weak
I'm the type of guy to watch bad movies the whole way through if the acting can support it. This was not the case this time unfortunately...I made it pretty far but everything about this movie was atrocious. I wanted to like it....but didn't.
